B-1 Business Visitor Visa
General Information: Foreigners working for a foreign entity are allowed to visit the United States under B-1 visas. These visas are more generally advantageous than "visa waivers" for various technical reasons, depending upon the circumstances.

B-2 Business Visitor Visa
General Information: Foreigners desiring to visit the United States for leisure or tourism are normally eligible to receive a B-2 visas. These visas are required for citizens of countries that do not maintain reciprocal "visa waivers".

E-1 Treaty Trader Visa

General Information: You can apply for an E-1 visa if you have opened a qualifying company or have been offered a job as a key employee owned by citizens of your own treaty country. If you are the principle owner of the qualifying business, you must take full responsibility in providing sufficient evidence, documents and completed forms. If you are applying as an employee of a qualifying business, some parts of the application must be completed by the sponsoring employee.

Eligibility Requirements: The application for an E-1 visa can be made at an INS office in the United States or at an American consulate in your home country. Most applications are filed at U.S. consulates abroad produce positive results. If you are in the United States on a different non-immigrant visa and you apply for an E-1 visa.

E-2 Treaty Investor Visa

General Information: If you are a citizen of a country holding investor treaties with the U.S. and you intend to work for a company supported by a substantial cash investment from citizens of your home country, you qualify for an E-2 visa.

F-1 Student Visa

H-1B Work Visa
General Information: The H-1B visa enables professionals in "specialty occupations" to make a valuable contribution to the American economy. A maximum of 195,000 H-1B visas issued every year. The H-1B visa is issued for up to three years and may be extended. This provides a maximum stay of six years. The H1-B visa holder can apply for a Green Card if a company wants to sponsor his/her Green Card application.

Eligibility Requirements: The H-1B non-immigrant visa may be issued to applicants seeking temporary entry in a specialty occupation and possess professional skills. "Specialty Occupations" include accounting, computer analysts, programmers, database administrators, web designers, engineers, financial analysts, doctors, nurses, scientists, architects and lawyers. The petitions are submitted by employers based on their need for the non-US-resident employee. The applicant may possess a bachelor's degree and requisite experience to make up for the lack of a master's degree.

H-2B Work Visa
General Information: The H-2B work visa was created to allow people to come to the United States temporarily to fill non-agricultural jobs for which the U.S. workers are in short supply. Up to 66,000 H-2B visas are issued every year. The annual quota has not yet been exceeded and prospects are good that H-2B visas will remain easily available in the future.

Eligibility Requirements: You qualify for an H-2B visa if you are coming to the United States to accept a temporary or seasonal non-agricultural job from a U.S. employer and you have the correct background, skills or natural abilities needed by that employer. H-2B visas are aimed at skilled and unskilled workers, compared to H-1B visa, which is intended for college-educated workers. Canadian and Mexican citizens are also eligible to apply for a TN Work Visa.

K-1 Fiance Visa
General Information: If your fiance(e) is not a citizen of the United States and you plan to get married in the United States, then you must file a petition with INS on behalf of your fiance(e). After the petition is approved, yor fiance(e) must obtain a visa issued at a U.S. Embassy or consulate abroad. The marriage must take place within 90 days of your fiance(e) entering the United States.

Eligibility Requirements: Until the marriage takes place, your fiance(e) is considered a nonimmigrant. A nonimmigrant is a foreign national seeking to temporarily enter the United States for a specific purpose. A fiance(e) may not obtain an extension of the 90-day original nonimmigrant admission.

TN Nafta Work Visa
General Information: A TN-Visa is a temporary work visa available only to citizens of Mexico and Canada. Under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) a citizen of a NAFTA country may work in a professional occupation in another NAFTA country if the applicant meet certain requirements. The spouse and unmarried, minor children of the principal applicant are entitled to the derivative status, but they are unable to accept employment in the United States.

Eligibility Requirements: The category "Professionals Under The North American Free Trade Agreement" is available only to citizens of Mexico and Canada. Under the North American Free Trade occupation in another NAFTA country provided that:


The profession is on the NAFTA list
he applicant possesses the specific criteria for that profession
The prospective position requires someone in that professional capacity
The applicant is going to work for a US employer
