Why Prague Old Town is special
Prague Old Town is one of the world's most architecturally beautiful old cities on earth.

The Prague Old Town's main square
This is he heart and proud sole of Prague Old Town. The square is lined with period piece renaissance and baroque buildings (see photo). Taking in this view while sitting at one of the al fresco cafes on the Prague Old Town square is a popular pastime.
The famous outdoor Astronomical Clock displays, besides the time, the astrological positions of the moon and sun. It dates back to the 15th century. On the hour, the two small windowdoors above the clock's zodiac face open to exhibit the parading statues of the twelve apostles. Tourists unfailingly assemble below, patiently waiting for the hourly show to begin.

Beyond the square, but still in Prague Old Town
Narrow, winding side streets branch out from the square in a pattern laid out in Medieval times. Most are lined with old, short-storied buildings that take you back in time. Some buildings house interesting museums, synagogues, restaurants and shops.
Prague Old Town (and Prague in general) is known for its world-class cultural events, including both the classical and modern varieties.

Slightly beyond Prague Old Town
Charles Bridge (a Hillman Wonder bronze medal winner) abuts Prague Old Town. Prague Castle (another bronze medal winner) is within walking distance for confirmed walkers See next section.
