Why Bora Bora is special
The Polynesian island Bora Bora in the South Pacific is widely touted as the most beautiful in the world.
The island is encircled by the celebrated Bora Bora tropical blue lagoon ringed by coral reefs (see photo) - and is dramatically crowned by a rugged 727 meter (2385 feet) high volcano core that's richly draped with tropical foliage.

A water paradise
Snorkelers and skin divers love Bora Bora. They relish mingling with the numerous and colorful tropical fish species in the clear turquoise blue waters. The water is warm and some white sand beaches exist, to the delight of swimmers and sunbathers.

Best time to visit
Trade winds keep the Bora Bora climate balmy year-round, though the ideal visiting time is from May to September when sunny days abound.
