Avicenna Memorial in Hamedan province

Tomb of Avicenna (Bu Ali Sina), philosopher & physician whose respected medical encyclopedia published in Europe. Was born in Khormassin, lived about 980-1037.
The grave of Sheikhol Raeis Avicenna has been placed in the center of the 12 foundations of the tower and next to him is the grave of Sheik Abu Saeid Dakhdook who was Avicenna's friend and host. Both graves have been covered with a flat marble stone with an inscription in nine lines. The inscription suggests 428 A.H. as the date when it was written.

There is a library with more than 5000 book and a museum related to his life & works.
